October 25-November 2

Second grade students finished their Egyptian collars by painting with gold.  While everyone painted, we listened to Egyptian music and some students wanted to dance to the drumming when they were finished!

Third grade students are creating landscapes, seascapes, or citiscapes with watercolor paint.  Students are experimenting with different watercolor painting techniques.

First grade students finished their warm and cool color "Fall leaf painting."  Students used cool colors to paint over the leaves to create a watercolor resist.

Week of October 4- 8

This week the second grade students started their Egyptian collars for the upcoming "Temples and Tombs" performance.  Students used geometric shapes to create patterns on the borders of the collars.  All of the collars will include students' names in heiroglyphics.
While learning about organic shapes, the first grade students collected maple and dogwood leaves to trace.  Everyone loved picking up leaves with beautiful colors and interesting shapes.  We looked closely at the shapes and the veins of the leaves.  Next week we are going to finish coloring in the leaves with warm colors and paint over the drawing with cool colors.

Week of September 27

Kindergarten students created watercolor resist fish using crayons and a watercolor wash.

The first grade students used geometric shapes to design their own robots.  We all danced like robots to electronic "robot" music.  Fun was had by all!
